Our local communities face many ecological challenges. We cannot solve everything by ourselves and at once, but we can gradually change the ecological image of our community, Therefore, Trebjesa Brewery has decided to help face the ecological challenges joint by the non-governmental organizations dealing with ecology.
This inspired Trebjesa Brewery in 2011 establish an annual competition for financing the best environmental project proposed by the NGO sector. Until now, six competitions have been held, in which total of 82 projects sought an opportunity to realize its projects, coming from almost every town across Montenegro.
Proposed projects are required to deal with one of the following topics: waste management, protection of natural resources and other activities that contribute to the development of awareness and accountability on the need for active involvement of citizens in the protection and improvement of the environment.
The project has showed that the cooperation between one company and NVO sector can give valuable output for the environment. Through five projects realized in Nikšić, equipment for separate waste disposal has been procured, the protection of rivers has been promoted, new seedling have been planted in the forest park Trebjesa, „green island” has been built for recycling, a built-in cellar for the Blace excursion, 100 bicycle parking facilities have been set up on around 10 locations in Nikšić. The new project, which realization is in progress, will promote recycling through the use of new technologies.
Trebjesa Brewery has allocated 60.000 euros for previously mentioned activities.
