Societe Generale bank Montenegro has been providing significant support to education and healthcare in Montenegro for years. Over the years, we tried to improve working conditions especially in schools and kindergartens which often lack equipment or school resources.
The Bank was one of the first institutions to support the program of the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF with the aim of introducing and promoting the inclusive education in Montenegro.
As part of the “It’s about ability” program, the bank donated first stimulating rooms in Montenegro for the five elementary schools in Podgorica that had the largest number of pupils involved in inclusive education. These are rooms that are equipped to stimulate the cognitive, emotional, physical and social development of children. As a result, every day, during school stays, children will have the chance to adopt new skills and acquire new friends through a stimulating environment. Supporting early-life inclusion through game and social interaction it is very important to ensure that it is successful in the long run, and to give every child the chance to develop to full potential.
The bank has also donated more than 800 manuals for working with children with autism. In each of the 168 primary schools, the manuals will help the teaching staff to strengthen the inclusive practical and methodology competences, to adapt and improve the way children with disabilities develop, but will also assist in accessing all students when it comes to simpler learning of graphic, motor , verbal and other skills.
Societe Generale bank Montenegro has provided specialized equipment for children with eyesight problems in four primary schools. Among the equipment are Braille machines, geometric and mathematical kits, various albums (geography, maths, nature), tactile table, drawing board, PVC bracelet stickers on Braille letter (for each room in the school : classrooms, cabinets, room for physics, director’s office, psychologists, etc.).
For 36 elementary schools and kindergartens throughout Montenegro, computer and didactic equipment were purchased. In co-operation with the Ministry of Education for each of the schools and preschool institutions, an appropriate set of didactic equipment has been selected which will enable teaching to be conducted in an interesting, diverse and imaginative manner in each of the educational units, while the purchase of educational facilities by computer equipment is a prerequisite for the application of IT technologies in the teaching process.
Societe Generale bank Montenegro will continue to provide its full contribution to the improvement of learning conditions in educational institutions in Montenegro.
