On 29 November 2016, Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka initiated, in cooperation with EMC Group doo Podgorica and MasterCard, voluntary and open corporate responsibility project focused on young people who made significant achievements in the following categories: 1. education, 2. culture, art and creative industries, 3. entrepreneurship, 4. social activism, 5. humanity and responsibility and 6. achievements of vulnerable groups. All young people from 15 to 30 years of age with residence in Montenegro who made achievements in one of the mentioned categories were entitled to participate in this award competition.
Vision of the project „Young Heroes” was to make the outstanding young people our ambassadors with their exemplary personal examples. We believe that as a result of such approach and active promotion of affirmative role models to young people, next generations will grow empowered to make changes and build a better society on the foundations of knowledge and creativity as the crucial preconditions for its development.
The winners of the award competition in 2017 were:
Amina Kuč, category „Arts, Cultural and Creative industries“
Excellent pupil of the Grammar High School “30 September” in Rožaje lives in the village (Biševo) and travels 30 km to school. She also attends extracurricular activities and often walks on foot to attend them. Her father passed away in her early childhood and her mother who receives a rather low pension raised her, her older sister who is an excellent student and younger brother and sister. She published her first book of poetry at the age of 14 and received many awards for the same both at home and abroad. She is also a volunteer in NGOs. Amina received the monetary award for the organization of poetry evening.
Ivan Marinović, category „Arts, Cultural and Creative industries“
Ivan is a creative young man who in 2012 founded the Montenegrin film production house “Adriatic Western”. His feature film was selected as Montenegro’s Oscars candidate for the year. Ivan speaks of himself and the country of his birth in his set of works. He is the best example that success in Montenegro can be achieved with hard work and knowledge and that Montenegro is the endless source of film ideas and scenarios. Ivan received the award for the participation in filmmaking conference in Turin.
Đorđe Murišić, category „Social Activismˮ
As a teenager Đorđe was treated for cancer and succeeded in this battle. However, he continued to fight the same battle this time for other children in the same situation by sharing with them his knowledge and experience. They altogether continue educating others at workshops, regional and the European conventions, expand their activities, realize their ideas and challenge prejudices against the children and young people fighting cancer. Đorđe received the monetary award for the organization of workshops in cooperation with NGO “Phoenix” in which Đorđe has been volunteering since the date of its establishment.
The purpose of the project was to get young heroes in Montenegro out of anonymity, present them as rising stars, in order to become an inspiration, pride and a role model for their peers and the entire community.
