Another year in a row NLB Banka was the general sponsor of the biggest international ITF tennis tournament in Montenegro, the Royal Cup, which was held on the grounds of TC “AS” in Podgorica from 16th to 22nd of September. Within revial part of the tournament, money was raised to purchase a newborn’s incubator, for the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
The action was carried out together with the company Lovćen osiguranje and with the joint forces of the collectives of both companies, as well as donations of clients of citizens, in amount higher than 11,000 EUR raised, while the missing money for the incubator purchase will be provided by Lovćen osiguranje and NLB Bank. In the exhibition match, the tennis skills were presented by the executive directors of NLB Banka and Lovćen osiguranje, Marko Popovič and Matjaž Božič, and they made an effort to make the match more than a game, with many fun moments, to the satisfaction of the audience.
Jevto Eraković, director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, also attended the match, and after it he personally expressed his gratitude and pride, because both companies recognized the importance of donating to the Clinical Center and that the youngest patients are important, because they are the future of our country.
Martin Leberle, CEO of NLB Bank at the closing of the NLB Royal Cup, said that NLB Bank is very touched, honored and grateful to all those who participated and donated for the humanitarian match, especially the match initiators and heroes, Matjaž Božić and Marko Popovič. “With the incubator we donated together for the Children’s Hospital, we are sure that many lives will be saved. And that is what is important,” Leberle concluded, announcing a reunion at the Royal Cup next year.
Tena Lukas from Croatia won the 16th NLB Royal Cup after defeating Russian Marina Melnikova 2-0 in the final (6: 4, 7: 5).
