AmCham Montenegro came up with the idea to create an internship program as a response to a very specific challenge the business environment was experiencing in Montenegro- the lack of an experienced and qualified labor market. To help address this issue, AmCham Montenegro launched the Internship Program for the first time in 2011. During the past seven years, the program achieved great success, having placed more than 140 interns with various AmCham member companies and partnering organizations for a period of three months.
In the realization of this Program, AmCham Montenegro has established cooperation with all three of the major universities in Montenegro: University of Montenegro, University of Donja Gorica and Mediterranean University. Each year, since 2011, students have the opportunity to apply for an internship position within this program independent of their universities.
We are very proud of this Program because it has benefited both sides, students and the business environment. Many of our interns have shown great working skills and commitment and some of them were even offered full-time employment at their assigned companies.
