Due to embedded stereotypes, girls and mademoiselles in Montenegro often do not have enough confidence to build their career in the fields of technology and science. That is why Telenor Foundation, in cooperation with partners, celebrates Girls’ Day in information and communication technologies every year, and encourages girls to build a career in that field.
Last year, Telenor Foundation and the Red Cross of Montenegro in Konik Camp organized a workshop on entrepreneurship and the importance of education, upon which the girls were able to hear the experiences of successful women in that field.
This year, a successful female engineer working in Telenor, Nina Drobnjak, with students of the Elementary School “Musa Burzan”, spoke of famous female mathematicians, scientists and programmers. Telenor seeks to help overcome prejudices about the role of women in the field of information and communication technologies and provide them with the support of choosing their place in this discipline, the importance of which for modern society is growing.
