Logate software company, in collaboration with AmCham member NLB Bank, as the main sponsor of the project, within the Logate Academy Adult Education Center, is implementing an initiative for free training for high school students in the field of programming. The project aims to bring IT skills to young people outside the capital city, where IT education opportunities are limited.
The training is intended for students of Cetinje Grammar School as well as for students of the Golubovci High school. The lectures will last for 3 months and will be held at the premises of Logate Academy in Podgorica and American Corner in Cetinje. Over the next 12 weeks, high school students will learn programming skills in the Python programming language. The lecturers will strive to balance of the development of programming skills and analytical thinking with practical problem solving.
Thanks to this project, after completing the course, 27 high school students will have basic programming knowledge that will allow them further orientation and studying of this area. With this initiative, NLB Bank and Logate are trying to strengthen the capacities of local communities and strongly support the development of ever-more-needed IT skills that are crucial among young people.
“As a company that has been intensively contributing to the education of IT personnel in Montenegro through its Academy in the last three years, we consider this project a natural next step in the effort to spread IT knowledge throughout Montenegro. Considering that we have only been oriented to Podgorica so far, in this way we wanted to open the door to other municipalities and provide an opportunity for young people, to explore this exciting field, with hope that there will be our future colleagues among them.” said from Logate.
“The financial industry is rapidly changing and adapting to the new age of digital business and life. The challenge for all market participants is to invest enough in new technology and knowledge. At NLB, we are also focused on digitalisation of services and a better user experience. In order to achieve this strategic goal, we must invest in a new level of technology and education with the support of young people interested in the field. Therefore, we are particularly pleased to be able to support the realization of such a project, which originated from young people who are interested in an increasingly demanding occupation. We believe that this will be a significant step towards their future professional development and we wish them much success,” said Dino Redžepagić, Executive Director of NLB Bank in charge of sales, information technology and innovation.
NLB Bank and Logate will continue to promote financial and e-literacy activities and e-skills among children and young people as one of the priorities in the corporate social responsibility of these companies.
