According to data of the Association of Young People with Disabilities of Montenegro, persons with disabilities and their families, who need legal assistance, find it difficult to get information about exercising their rights and initiating legal procedures. The challenges they faced were the reason for the implementation of the project “ICT in the Service for the Execution and Protection of Rights of Persons with Disabilities“, which was supported by Telenor Foundation.
Within the project implementation, a special portal and application, Disability info, have been developed, which serve to provide free legal assistance to persons with disabilities and their families. Through the portal and application it is possible to get information on free higher education, unemployment benefits, travel benefits, exercising voting rights, subsidies in the field of professional rehabilitation and employment, family financial support, personal disability allowance, and care and assistance allowance.
At the beginning of 2017, the online legal counseling center was enhanced with an audio/video call option, through which the users can receive legal advice every Thursday from 12 to 14 hours not only via chat, but also through via direct audio or video calls with legal team of AYDM.
